Tears of a Tiger by: Sharon M. Draper - Alissandrea Rosado 7E
Andy Jackson and three other friends just won a basketball game. To celebrate their victory they went out for a drive and were drinking all accept their friend BJ who never got drunk in his life. They didn't realize that will be the last night for one of them. As they were driving they heard honking but just laughed because they were drunk. All of a sudden they crashed into a wall. Everyone got out accept the captain of the Hazelwood basketball team Robert Washington. As two friends were trying to get Robert out since he was with his legs stuck in the windshield, the engine exploded. The two friends fell to the ground and watched their best friend burn to death. Months passed after Roberts death, Andy had no one else to blame for himself. He never forgave himself for that horrible night. Every night in Andy's dreams, Robert comes and tells him its all his fault and has to die to. The only thing that kept joy in his life was his little brother Monty who was only 7 years old. To him he thought his brother was a tiger, to him tigers were brave and can overcome anything. But he wonders do tigers have tears? Other than the joy of his little brother, Andy's life wasn't getting any easier. Soon he gave up on life. His little brother finds him dead in the bedroom with a gun in his hand. Monty's question that was asked before the death of his older brother was do tigers cry ? With all the struggles in Andy's life and the mistakes he made, it proves that tigers do have tears.
