The Lightning Thief is about a boy named Persy Jackson. In the book Persy thinks he's dyslexic because he can not read any letters from the alphabet. But when Persy's mother disappears from the tight grip of a minotaur hands, Persy thinks his mother is dead while Persy's friend Grover reveals he's half goat and takes him to Camp Half-Blood where all the sons and daughters of the gods are trained to fight. Persy is moved to Hermes cabin. There he meets Luke and Annabeth. When the camp plays Capture the Flag game, Persy is getting seriously hurt by the child of Ares. Persy hears a voice in his head a climbs into the river. In the river, Persy starts to heal and he discovers that he is the son of Poseidon. Persy is then accused of stealing the master bolt from Zeus so Percy goes on a mission to recover the master bolt from the real culprit.
