Blog #4- The Thief Lord, by Cornella Funke- Talya Guenzburger 7E

Dear Diary,
Hi, my name is Prosper, and I am an orphan. I live in Venice, Italy. My mother and father are dead, and I am living with my evil Aunt and Uncle. They like Bo, they want to adopt him, but give me away.  But Bo needs to stay with me. I know what is best for him. I think that me and Bo are gonna run away from them tonight, and never return. I don't know where we are going to go, but I know we have to get away from here. We might have to live on the streets for a couple of nights, and I have no idea where we are going to find food. But I am Bo's older brother, and I need to take care of him, even if it does mean living on the streets.

Dear Diary,
YES!! Me and Bo escaped, and we are now running free in Venice. We met up with another bunch of child runaways who are our age. They are experienced thieves, and the steel food and money daily to survive. It is not the best situation, but it will do. We are living in an abandoned movie theater with the other thieves. Me and Bo are learning how to steal. The group is run by the head thief, who is called The Thief Lord. He is a master thief, and can steel almost anything.  And he has been living on the streets forever. I love living here, even though we sometimes almost get caught by the cops.

Dear Diary,
Wow, I'm shocked . I just found out the truth about The Thief Lord. He has not been living on the streets all of his life. He is actually the son of the richest news paper editor in Venice, and he ran away when he was kid. I feel like he dishonored me, because he didn't tell me the truth. I respected him, and he let me down. He is not who I thought he was. I don't know what to think now.
