When I read the book I found out it was a good book. It talked about racism and how back then not only did Indians were not suppose to be with white people but if they talked to white people they would still be hated on. There was though a boy 14 years of age, and he went to a school named Rearden, which was an all white school. When he went there all of his old friends (well his only friend is Rowdy) hated him. He was made fun of in his new school too. This time if he stood up to the people that made fun of him, he thought he was going to get killed like literally. Though it was the opposite, he got respect after landing the first punch on the football team captain he got respect (which was so different from what he expected).
Toward the end it started to get better in friendship and all that gooey stuff that happens in almost every single book. Rowdy became his friend again. He made a 3-pointer on the basketball team. He jumped higher than Rowdy when he was going for the slam dunk and Junior took the ball out of his hand (this all happened before Rowdy became his friend again). So people started to respect him more.
