Dear Abby,
Unlike some of the letters that I send you, this one is about four characters, not one. My four friends are named Lena, Bridget, Tibby, and Carmen. These four girls have been friends since they were born, and although they go to different schools, have never spent a summer apart. Their main conflict in this book is that, at the age of sixteen, they are spending their first summer apart from one another. Lena is going to Greece, Carmen is visiting her stepfather in South Carolina, Bridget is going to soccer camp in California, and Tibby is working at a local drug store. The day before they were going to depart from one another, they discovered a pair of magical pants. Well, your probably thinking to yourself "what are magical pants?"Well, these pair of ordinary blue jeans fit each of these girls' totally different bodys, beautifully. So, they made sure that during the summer they would pass (or mail) the "magical pant" to one another in order. With the pants, they would also add letter about what they are doing over the summer. Through out this summer, Lena, Carmen, Tibby, and Bridget will learn about themselves, their past, and their families.
Your Friend
Dear Friend,
I am a little worried about your friends. This is their first summer apart, and they are going to be really (really) far away from each other. I wonder how they will deal with not having each other all the time. I mean, their mothers were friends before they were even born, so it was kind of as though friendship was handed to them. I wonder if they be social and make friends outside of themselves. I hope they can, and i wish them good luck
Abby

ReplyDeleteI really love these books. They are so great! Did you ever think about maybe talking a little bit more about what happens into the book? I don't know just a suggestion. I really like how you talked about all the girls not just one. I also like how you described everything really well. I can't wait to read more of your blogs!
